John was a great host, friendly and helpful, and his homemade brown bread was perfection. Best full Irish breakfast in Ireland! He also gave us a lovely dinner recommendation. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I'd definitely stay again.

John was cheerful and really friendly, and helped me with local information. My room was just right, with nice bedding and everything very clean. Breakfast was superb and included in the price. There was ample parking throughout my stay, at the front and around the back off the road. There's a Centra nearby for essentials, as well as a pharmacy and takeaway. Highly recommend this B&B.

The host was a real character and we had a great stay. Our room was warm and spacious, though the bathroom felt a bit cramped and it took a while to get hot water the first time. Breakfast was filling, starting with fruit and cereal before the cooked food, and there was soda bread on the table too. It was easy to find, with plenty of parking beside the property, in the courtyard and on the street. If we're back on that side of the country, we won't look elsewhere for accommodation.

We stayed in the Wine Room, which was gorgeous and huge. It really felt like stepping back in time. John was the most wonderful host I could have asked for. Hearing his stories about the house and his ancestors was incredible. If you love vintage things and history, this place is for you. It's in the beautiful countryside around Dunlavin, about 45 minutes or so from Dublin, and gives you a real Ireland experience. A tip for anyone who likes straightening their hair: there aren't bathroom outlets here, and we've found the same at other B&Bs, including in Scotland, which we visited before Ireland. Bring an extension cord. Ireland has won our hearts, so we'll definitely keep coming back, and this B&B will be my go-to. Thank you, John. We loved staying in your beautiful home! And please ignore reviews complaining that things are outdated. The building has been passed down through generations for 400 years. Were they expecting a Hilton or the Ritz?

John was very helpful when I arrived late, waiting up until 11:15 pm to hand over the key and show me the room. Dunlavin's central location was handy, and there was plenty of parking through the archway. The room was clean and quite big, with a comfortable bed. I liked the interesting decor, family photos and country-house feel. Breakfast was only OK. John seemed to be cooking and serving by himself. The eggs weren't poached, they were microwaved, and the sausages were nearly burnt, though the brown bread was nice. That's why I gave it three stars: the breakfast and the €100 price for one night. Otherwise, it would've been four stars.
