I was there as part of a Globus tour and really liked this small hotel in a small town. My room had been newly renovated, with a faint fresh-paint smell that was pleasant, and it was sparkling clean. The shower had hot water and good pressure, and the bed was comfortable. I liked the furnace heating too, since it made the room feel cosier and less dry than central heating. Town centre is only a few minutes’ walk, although shops closed at 6 pm. Breakfast was quite nice, especially the hash brown and yogurt. I doubt I’ll be back in this area, but I highly recommend the hotel.

The staff are always lovely and helpful, and this is a handy place for coffee or lunch when you’re in town or working nearby. Service and payment are quick. I was also invited to dinner at the Legends restaurant, where the meal was absolutely delicious, the Christmas atmosphere was lovely and the service top notch.

The rooms were dirty, and the accommodation staff seemed to need more experience. One of the managers gave me the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Be careful, even breathing inside seems enough to get threatened with extra charges for “damages”. I wouldn’t call this a four-star place.

The breakfast was delicious, with fresh ingredients and local specialties, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Temple Gate Hotel had lovely decor and a peaceful atmosphere that helped us relax. For an even quieter stay, ask for a garden-view room. Try the hotel restaurant for dinner too, it’s delicious. There are shops and cafes nearby in the Kilmainham area.

Everything was clean, and the beds were comfortable, but the toilet wouldn’t flush and the shower wasn’t very good. The place could use some sprucing up, as a bit of everyday maintenance would make a big difference. It wasn’t awful, but we probably wouldn’t stay again.
