We'd generally had good experiences with the restaurant, bar, fitness centre, and hotel at Lady Gregory, so what happened today was a real disappointment. Lunch is meant to be available until 3:00 PM. We arrived at 2:57 PM, which CCTV can confirm, but the lunch trays and containers had already been cleared. It looked as though the service was being packed away around 2:50 PM or earlier, despite the stated closing time. We had made a point of arriving before the cutoff, relying on the policy communicated to guests. Instead, we were told lunch was no longer available, and nobody even apologised. We were handed a restaurant menu, but we had come for lunch and reasonably expected to be served lunch, rather than redirected elsewhere. This felt unprofessional and frustrating. Guests plan around the service times a hotel promises, and Lady Gregory should manage expectations and follow its own policy. We had to spend our money somewhere else today. The owner lost a little profit, so well done, keep up the great work.

Our guests are still talking about how much they enjoyed the delicious, beautifully presented food. The bridal suite was spacious and lovely, a perfect place to unwind after the day. From beginning to end, our wedding at Lady Gregory hotel was incredible. Caroline, the events coordinator, was professional, attentive, and organized, and made sure everything went as we'd envisioned. Every staff member went above and beyond to make the day special. Thank you to the whole team, especially Caroline, for an unforgettable wedding. We'd highly recommend this venue for a memorable celebration and great service. Buhle & Romeo October 2025

The rest of the staff were very professional, but my experience with the Events manager was awful. I booked a group meal for a civil ceremony in November, for an event taking place in January. A week before, she called us in and said we had to guarantee six rooms for the night before or they couldn't host us. While I tried to speak, she kept talking over me and treated me very poorly. I can't understand how she holds the Events manager position. She was one of the rudest and most unprofessional managers I've ever encountered, and doesn't seem fit for the role. Thankfully, The Oranmore Lodge Hotel came through and were extremely welcoming and professional. Think twice before holding an event at the Lady Gregory.

The food in the bar was very poor: the chips were hard as bullets, the fish overcooked, and a couple beside us couldn't cut their carvery beef because it was so tough. The showers were only lukewarm, and half the rooms in the sauna area were broken, with one sauna space being used to store machinery bits. The staff were friendly, the rooms were great, and the pool and jacuzzi were pretty good. Still, I wouldn't recommend this hotel and won't be back.

The staff were nice and the bedroom was big, but breakfast was only okay. On Saturday night, people leaving the pub woke me at 1 am. They stayed in the carpark just behind the bedrooms, shouting and laughing. Too noisy.
