Arbutus Hotel Killarney

My brother-in-law and I stayed at The Arbutus in early October while walking in Killarney. The location in town was excellent, and the hotel has a lovely atmosphere. Our room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast and bar food, and the cosy bar was a nice place to spend the evening with good music. The staff really made the stay. They were friendly, always greeted us with a smile, and went out of their way to help with any questions. It felt like they genuinely cared about making our time in Killarney pleasant. They’re a credit to the hotel and the town. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in the area.

I’ve stayed at the Arbutus four times now, after first visiting earlier this year. It’s right in the heart of Killarney, with Killarney House, the train station, and the jaunting cars all about a five minute walk away. The building still has an old world charm and a peaceful feel, despite being so central. The restaurant is excellent, and the bar is lively, often with music in the evenings. Bedrooms are elegant and comfortable, and the welcome from the people here is genuinely warm. They helped with our luggage on arrival and departure, and nothing felt like too much trouble. I won’t be able to visit again until next year, 2026, which is the only downside. Top marks for comfort, style, convenience, and hospitality.

I’ve stayed here quite a few times and it’s always been excellent. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is great. Michelle and Ina at reception are a pleasure to deal with, both so friendly, genuine, and helpful. Michelle even arranged a buffet breakfast for me one morning when I had to leave very early, without me needing to ask. The night porter was a gentleman, too.

The room was clean and spacious, and breakfast and service were both great. It’s easy to get into town, and there’s a lively pub right in the hotel.
