The friendly staff and nice food were the only things that saved a disappointing stay. We waited 40 minutes to order dessert, with our empty dinner plates still sitting in front of us. Our table was booked for 10am at breakfast, but there was nowhere for us to sit. You have to go downstairs to get breakfast yourself, as there’s no option to have it brought to your room. The hotel felt cheap, and our so-called king size bed was two mattresses pushed together. The shower seemed to have only one setting, and it was too hot. The rooms aren’t as soundproof as claimed; we could hear people next door chatting at 12am. This hotel seems more suited to families with small children than couples. Our stay was only okay, and I don’t think we’ll be back.

The staff were friendly, professional, and very cooperative, and the rooms were clean. It was a really good stay, and I’ll definitely stay here again when I come back.

The breakfast cost 25 euros for the two of us, and the scrambled eggs I ordered were so undercooked that the egg juice was swimming around and ruined mine. That’s what kept this from getting five stars. Still, the staff were friendly and very helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and the shower was wonderful. I’d stay here again.

Dinner downstairs was fine and fairly priced. The breakfast room is beautiful and has a warm atmosphere. Our rooms were pretty, though the furniture could use an update; it was okay, just not the best among three stars. The reception staff were very friendly and gave us helpful suggestions for what to visit during our stay.

The continental breakfast was the letdown. At €8 each, we expected something decent, but there were really only three choices: cereal, yogurt with tinned fruit, or toasted pancakes. There was also a bit of fruit, toast that you had to ask for, salami, gouda in plastic, and prepackaged croissants and chocolate muffins. The room had a kind of strange atmosphere too. For something filling until lunch, I’d go down the road for a breakfast roll at about €4 instead. Apart from that, it’s a lovely hotel with lovely staff, and I’d stay again. The room was nice and new, though the mattress was a little uncomfortable and the pillows just okay. It may not suit anyone with neck problems, but was fine otherwise. The location is handy if you can drive, about a 5 min drive from Killarney town, and the receptionist was absolutely lovely.
