We dropped into this charming pub on a whim before driving back to Killarney, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. We were warmly welcomed by the bartender, who helped us get on the WiFi and made an Irish Coffee unlike any I'd had on our travels in Ireland. The chocolate topping and extra foam were thoughtful touches. It was a pleasure chatting with him, while locals enjoyed their evening beside the crackling fireplace. A welcoming pub with great atmosphere and service.

An utterly disgraceful bar. The woman was ignorant, and the doors seem to spend more time closed than open. Even when they are open, there's nobody at the bar to serve you, and you can hear her shouting at family members. It's easy to see why the place gets so little trade.

We spent about two hours here on a night out with friends, one of whom was moving to the Netherlands. The barmaid was brilliant, joking and chatting with us. After she went on a break, an older man took over behind the bar and told us to be quiet so he could watch Donald Trump on the news. He said we were annoying the other three customers there that night. Maybe he was having a bad night, but none of us will go back. Five stars for the barmaid, one after that.

The bar can be quiet on weeknights, though I enjoy it in the evenings. It has a great atmosphere at Christmas, Easter and Puck Fair, and is exceptionally clean and comfortable. They also serve great Guinness and coffee. I'm local, so I've never stayed in the B&B.
