The location was great and the apartment was very clean, but we seemed to get the short straw. It was basic and didn't look like the pictures on booking.com. The furniture and equipment were worn, the window handle was broken, and although the room was marked non-smoking, it definitely smelled of smoke at some point, with a burn in the couch.

The apartment was well renovated and right in the town centre. We stayed in a two-bedroom place, but the beds in one room were two singles pushed together as a double, and there was a strange smell coming from outside the other room. After one shower there was no hot water left. The boiler had been switched off and there was no note explaining that we should heat the water in advance. Aside from that, it was great.

For over €200 a night, this felt like daylight robbery. The apartment and communal area were filthy and noisy, with cheap, minimal furniture and some broken pieces. There wasn't one shelf, hook, table, or rack to put or hang anything on, and there were no bedside lights. There was almost no natural light, and it hadn't been cleaned very well. Never again!

We booked the superior accommodation and got a very nice two-bedroom apartment with every comfort. The welcome was extremely warm. The manager even waited for us when bad weather delayed our arrival.

It's basic accommodation right by the heart of Kinsale. If you expect five-star, you'll be disappointed. It was clean, including the sheets, and really, that's what matters.
