Merriman Hotel

Kinvara is a lovely little village, with a sizable port and a long history of fishing and trade. There’s also a castle to see, where tourists regularly attend banquets. We had a most enjoyable visit. The rooms were clean and basic, but had what you really need. The bar staff were friendly and the atmosphere was good, and breakfast was faultless, with friendly serving staff too.

We had lunch in a cozy, warm setting and would definitely come back. I had the Boston Burger, which was amazing, with a thick Irish beef patty and a huge portion. My son had cheese pizza, and my wife had fish and chips. No complaints, everyone was happy.

We’ve eaten bar food here a couple of times and it’s always been enjoyable, with great service. We brought the kids too, and the staff were very accommodating. There’s off-street parking at the rear, and it’s a great spot along the Atlantic way. It never fails to impress. Would recommend.

A nice choice for a quiet weekend. We went in January on a special offer. Breakfast was great, though the bar food was average and a bit pricey. The village was very quiet, with most businesses on the main street closed or shut down. The walk by the sea was lovely, and the staff in every bar and shop we went into were friendly and chatty.
