Carrick House B&B

We spent one night here over Easter, and it felt like a home away from home. The room was very spacious and had tea and coffee facilities. The owners were a pleasure to talk to and made us feel welcome. My son Mark especially loved playing with max the dog. Thanks for having us, we'll be back!

The views from the front were amazing. We had a fantastic night here as a family of two adults and two kids, aged 11 and 13. The room was lovely, clean, and very comfortable, and the hosts made us feel so welcome. I'd recommend staying here.

We weren't able to meet the owner because of circumstances outside her control, which was a real shame. At the time we didn't know why and first left a bad review because we hadn't had contact with her during the stay. Since then we've spoken with Ann and understand why our experience differed from the warm welcome other guests describe. We've amended our review and hope to return someday for that Irish welcome. The owner's daughter greeted us, showed us the room and breakfast room, and gave us taxi numbers for getting into town for dinner. She was friendly. The room was a good standard, but had no tea or coffee facilities, although I believe guests can help themselves in the breakfast room at any time. The bathroom smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, apparently from a previous guest. The owner wasn't there then, but later apologised and said she would have moved us to another room if she'd known. Breakfast was a self-service continental meal and was fine, though helping ourselves felt a little like we'd broken into someone's house.

Ann and John were wonderful hosts from the moment we arrived to the end of our stay. The B&B is ideally located close to town, with a great view of the mountains. Best one I've stayed in, and I'd highly recommend it.
