McGettigan’s Hotel Letterkenny

Unbelievable experience at a hotel recently. I booked a room and travelled five hours with my family, only to be told on arrival that a credit card deposit was required. The debit card I’d used to book wasn’t accepted. We had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. Big thumbs down from me.

Emer deserves a mention for how she looked after us in the restaurant. We asked whether the GAA was on and said a group of us would be coming in. She sorted seats in front of the screens, drinks and food menus, and even went upstairs to fetch a box of wine bottles from storage. Everyone we met, from reception to the restaurant, was superb and really friendly. The rooms were clean, the location was great, and parking was good too. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but we had a lovely stay and will definitely be back.

We stayed just one night, and everything was great from beginning to end. The food and the staff were warm and friendly, and the location was great.
