Leon and Gillian made us feel so welcome, and hearing their stories about how they came to own Aras was fascinating. We loved the place and would gladly come back someday. It’s a great spot for visiting Slieve League and the surrounding area, and we’ll recommend it to others. Finding one room for all five of us can be difficult. With small kids, we weren’t ready to have them sleep alone or split up the family, so it meant a lot that we could all stay together. The room was spotless, the views were stunning, and the shared kitchen was neat. Having tea and coffee available was especially nice on a cool evening.

We found rooms to be very good value, and Leon and Gillian were warm, welcoming hosts with plenty of useful suggestions for exploring nearby. The kitchen and dining room felt homely and had everything we needed, plus a lovely open fireplace. There are good walks close by, including a trail right at the door that goes to Cashel. Aras is also handy for visiting Slieve League and Silver Strand. Set in rural Donegal beside a spectacular stretch of the Wild Atlantic Way, it’s a peaceful place for a quiet break.

The upstairs lounge was just as thoughtfully kept as the rest, with sofas, a library, and what you need to unwind or have some fun. Downstairs, the kitchen and dining area were practical and well equipped. It’s a cosy, family-run place in a beautiful part of Donegal. Leon and Julianne were a real bonus, such fun and helpful people, and Adam and Andrea were great too. I’ll be back with my family next year. Thanks again for everything. Fabio from Rimini.

The week at Aras was amazing. Leon even lent me a bike so I could cycle to and from college, which worked out great, and the scenery along the way was stunning. I knew on arrival that the location was just right for me. Breakfast was perfect, and Gillian and Leon were fantastic hosts. I’d highly recommend this magical place.

Breakfast was brilliant, with a much bigger spread than I expected. I’d have been happy with coffee and toast, but they served fresh pastry and did it all with a smile. The upstairs living and dining area was spacious, and the shared kitchen had everything I needed. Leon and Gillian, thank you for making me feel welcome throughout my stay in this beautiful, well located B&B. My room was cosy and clean, with lovely crisp sheets. Thanks again 🙏
