N20 Inn Hotel

We booked a good room, but I don’t recommend this hotel at all. The bed was very uncomfortable, the washrooms were tiny, and the charging plugs were hidden behind the bed, so we had to move everything to charge our phones. The walls felt like cardboard. You could hear what was happening in every room on the floor, including people fighting in the hallways because others were making too much noise. We couldn’t sleep all night. In all my time in Ireland, this was my worst experience. I’ve stayed in hostels with much better service and facilities. If you just need somewhere to rest and don’t care much about the facilities, book a hostel instead. It’s far better than this place. It cost us [amount not specified].

Oh no. Cheap and nasty, like an old, tatty hostel, and the motorway outside is extremely busy. The noise was beyond belief. I guess the staff were friendly and really tried hard, but the shower was broken and only gave tepid water. Life’s too short for this. It’s a kip.

I usually look for places that make an effort with fresh food, not the basic overheated carvery style, and this restaurant really impressed me. The food’s incredible for both taste and presentation, and the chef is an absolute 5 Star guy. You can actually see him working, though I didn’t get his name. The fresh new decor is beautiful, and the place is so clean, with friendly, professional staff. This spot used to be awful, but not now, folks. I only left my car here while travelling on to Cork City with others and hadn’t meant to eat, but I got hungry and curious about the transformation. It was meant to be just a stopover. I had lunch here yesterday, and now I’m going to make it my stop to eat while I’m in the area for the next 12 months. Try it, it’s exceptional.

The reception staff were lovely when I checked in, and the room was spotless, but I wouldn’t return. I stayed two nights and got maybe five hours of sleep in all. The walls are so thin I could hear the next room’s conversation as if I were in there. A woman was walking through the corridor screaming, and people below were playing music really loudly. There was nobody working at reception at night, and I just didn’t feel safe.
