This is a small B&B just outside Clifden, with really friendly, helpful hosts. It’s well placed for exploring Connemara National Park and the surrounding area.

The hosts were so gracious, and the breakfast that came with the stay was delicious. It’s a lovely B&B, and I hope I can come back soon.

The area gives you plenty to do, from beaches and coastal biking or hiking to walks in Connemara. We travelled by bus and on foot, without a car, and still found this a great base for seeing how varied the west coast landscape is. After three nights here, we’re telling everyone we know to come too, though they’ll need to book quickly. The Eriu Lodge was wonderful from arrival to departure. Our spacious, quiet bedroom was beautifully decorated, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve slept in while travelling. Each evening we chose the next day’s breakfast from a big menu. The Full Irish was delicious and a must, and there were extra snacks available in the tea room whenever we wanted them.

We stumbled on this place while driving, after looking at the usual options like Airbnb, and were glad we found it. We stayed one night at Eriu B&B and found the people easy to deal with and the atmosphere super friendly. They offered us a drink when we arrived in the afternoon, and breakfast the next morning was really good. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The lodge is charming, with spotless rooms and very comfortable, well-sprung beds. Nel is a wonderfully welcoming host who looks after guests and lets you choose both your breakfast and the time you’d like it. It’s a great spot for visiting the Connemara peninsula, including historic, active Kykemore Abbey.and Connmara National Park.
