Greville Arms Hotel

The room was comfortable, fairly spacious and clean, with nice beds and a well-kept bathroom. I liked having a table and chairs, though they made the space feel a bit cramped. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, breakfast dining area and some nicely decorated rooms, but finding your way around can be confusing. I arrived later than planned and the woman at reception was helpful, getting me into my twin room straight away. It was much too hot, and the radiator dial was broken. Reception offered to move me, but I stayed put and opened the windows. The cold, rainy Mullingar weather helped cool things down. There are some nice touches here, and I’d recommend a visit.

We come back often for the service and the handy location right in the town centre. The staff are fantastic, especially the bar staff, and I’d highly recommend staying here. Parking is the drawback: spaces at the rear are limited, and finding street parking during the day can be difficult.

The breakfast was fantastic, and I was glad they had locked storage for bicycles. I stayed for two nights last September, in 2025, and had a perfect visit. I booked after reading the good reviews, and now I can say they’re well deserved.

There’s a lovely atmosphere in this large hotel, and the restaurant had a good menu with plenty of choice. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We went to see Mike Denver and his Band, which I’d highly recommend, then enjoyed a lovely breakfast with several options the next morning. It’s on Mullingar’s Main Street, close to the shops. Road parking isn’t great, though the hotel has its own private car park down a side street. One thing surprised me: there’s no lift and no ground-floor bedrooms. I wouldn’t normally think to ask whether a hotel is wheelchair friendly. We still had a lovely time and will be back.
