The activities were a real highlight. We tried falconry, archery, and clay pigeon shooting. David was friendly, very skilled, and endlessly patient while helping us with archery and shooting. Jack, our falconer on the hawk walk, knew so much about raptors and shared his enthusiasm for the birds with us. The grounds are lovely to wander around too. I walked through the walled garden in February and already saw primroses and peonies in bloom. The care and skill put into maintaining the whole place are impressive. Dromoland Castle is expensive, so it may be a rare treat for most, but I thought it was worth the money for a classy, fun, relaxing stay. We were welcomed with friendliness and professionalism, and the common rooms, restaurant areas, and our beautiful room were all spotless and tastefully decorated. We ate at The Gallery and the restaurant, and the food, drinks, and service were great throughout. Special thanks to Dan at the bar, who made delicious drinks and made us feel at ease. Breakfast was included and plentiful, with something for everyone. There was live music at night, with local musicians in the Gallery and a harpist in the restaurant. It was good music at a comfortable volume, so we could enjoy it without having to shout over it.

The castle and grounds are enchanting. You arrive along a winding drive past old, twisted oak trees and a glistening pond, then the castle comes into view. Everything is beautifully furnished, landscaped, and decorated. The rooms manage to feel welcoming and warm while still being elegant and practical. But the service is what made this stay unforgettable. Richard greeted us cheerfully, carried our bags, parked the car, and even brought a few little things we'd left in the car door up to our room. We got a full room tour, and my boys were thrilled to find candy and stuffies on their beds. At dinner in the Thomand, Matthew mentioned our room's view and greeted the boys by name. We were looked after like royalty. They surprised us with a chocolate cake, candle, and "happy 9th birthday" written beautifully in icing, and our server sang to my son at dinner. We could get rides to and from the pool in the next building whenever we wanted, and the rowboats on the pond were free to use. Our falconry experience with Jack was once in a lifetime, something we'll treasure. I'm speechless. I love a classy, upscale stay, and this felt otherworldly. If anything tops it, I think I'll have died and gone to heaven. I hope I get to stay at Dromoland again.

We had a magical Christmas weekend at Dromoland Castle, and the warm welcome and relaxed feel were there from the start. Our Queen Anne Suite was spacious and lovely, with a separate sitting area. The bathroom had everything we needed, and we enjoyed the treats on the tea tray, including biscuits and chocolates, plus the Christmas tree in the room. The grounds and gardens were beautiful, and we had a great walk. Food was excellent in the castle and at Fig Tree Restaurant. My favourite spot is beside the fireplace in The Gallery, and Afternoon Tea at Earl of Thomond Restaurant is a special treat. Thanks for such a memorable stay. See you soon!

Rita checked us in and went out of her way to sort out our sleeping arrangements. Richard took care of our luggage, showed us to the rooms, and explained everything. We felt welcomed with real elegance and professionalism, and the whole experience was refreshing and beautiful. Highly recommend Dromoland Castle.

Dromoland was the romantic destination wedding venue we'd dreamed of. Planning from across the pond was easy, and all the vendors they recommended were great. The service went beyond what we could have expected in the States. Our friends and family still say it was one of the best weddings they've attended, and everyone would love to come back soon. Absolutely the best! ❤️ Thank you so much!
