The room was fine, and the continental breakfast was okay, but there were no tea-making facilities and no Full Irish. The staircase up to the first floor is very steep. It's about a minute from the ferry terminal, which is handy for an early crossing, though I thought it was expensive for what you get and found better deals nearby. You get what you pay for.

A peaceful place to stop after coming off the ferry, especially if you don't want to drive any further. The Wi-Fi worked and breakfast was fine, though simple. The shower was the problem: I couldn't adjust it from burning hot, so I ended up washing my hair in the sink. It felt a bit like student accommodation.

The room was neat and clean, with a really comfortable bed and a hot, powerful shower. We could get breakfast from 6am, and the ferry is very close by. What really made the stay was the guy at reception. He was so friendly, showed us menus and pointed out local places to eat. At the end of his shift, he even offered us a lift to the pub. I've never had anyone offer that before, and I was blown away by the service. Booking was smooth, and I'd highly recommend it.

The manager has set noise rules with ferry travellers in mind, which I appreciated. I just wish the other guests had followed them, because we didn't get a great night's sleep. The beds were quite an experience, and not especially comfortable. Still, it works fine for a short stay.

The staff are the reason I gave this three stars. It's a decent, tidy hotel for a night before an early ferry or after arriving late, and there's plenty at breakfast to get the day started. The beds are the same size whether you're alone or sharing, but they're rather small for two adults, especially under one matching blanket, which I suspect is 1.40 wide. I also missed having a kettle for tea before bed. You can get one until 10pm, but have to go downstairs to the TV lounge. Some drinking glasses in the room would be nice too, though the plastic bathroom cups do the job. Maybe I'm a bit spoiled and like having everything close at hand.
