Marguerite's B&B

Marguerite was so welcoming and personable, and even recommended The Church for dinner and booked it for us. Her house is just outside town, exceptionally quiet, with stunning gardens. Our en suite room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice and hot food cooked to order. It's a great place to stay, run just how a quality B&B should be. We were there for one night on a road trip, much too short, but wonderful. Tip: call Marguerite directly to book by phone. You certainly won't get a worse deal.

Early July 2025. It was our third trip to Ireland, but our first with ZERO plans made in advance. We rented a car at the airport and just started driving. When we needed a bed for the night, Google led us to Marguerites B&B, and luckily she had a room free. The landscape and view were immaculate, and Marguerite greeted us at the door, gave us a quick introduction and showed us to a room that was clean and ready, even though we'd booked at the last minute. When we mentioned we hadn't managed to get a reservation at one of Skibbereen's popular spots, she came back about two minutes later with one for us. She even offered to drive us there so we could have a few pints and walk back. HOW SWEET?! We walked both ways and were glad we did. It was a short, enjoyable walk of about 15 min and gave us a look at what Skibbereen had to offer. The next morning Marguerite and her lovely husband made us the best breakfast and chatted with us. She hand-knits cute coasters, angels, clothing and bookmarks at very affordable prices. I bought some as gifts for loved ones back in the states, and they all LOVED them. We had the best night's stay at Marguerite's B&B and hope to return next year. Kudos to Google and Marguerite for a fantastic job! -Jackie & Christine Rosemark

Marguerite went above and beyond to make my stay really lovely. Everything was extremely clean and tidy, and all the amenities were there. The fresh breakfast had a delicious, extensive selection. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and can't recommend it more highly. Thanks again, Marguerite!

We were driving around Ireland and had to book our accommodation rather late. Marguerite was understanding and made us feel very welcome, even with our late check-in. The cottage was very comfortable, with great beds and private toilets. The homemade breakfast was probably our favourite part. Be sure to pick up some of Marguerites crocheted hats, scarves and other items. Thanks so much, we'll absolutely be back!
