The Red Cottage & Stables

Tea and biscuits were waiting for us when we arrived, and the hosts were so welcoming. The B&B cottage and converted stables are beautiful, with lovely views. Our room was spotless and warm, and had tea and coffee, a hairdryer and other basics. It was very quiet even though the property is near a main road. We’d definitely like to return.

The breakfast was great, and at €9.5 it felt well worth the price. We accidentally booked our rooms for the wrong day, but they immediately offered us a room at the B&B run by the woman’s mum. It was really nice there, with big, clean rooms. We also needed plug adapters because our home country uses different sockets, and they gave us four without hesitation. The place is next to the road, so it can get quite loud and the location isn’t perfect. Still, the people there were so nice and cheerful. We had a great experience, would love to go again, and can recommend staying here.

The couple running this place were absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. I stayed while doing '4 Days In September A Tribute' - spin in memory of the crew of Rescue 116. The service was great, and the rooms were immaculate, spacious and so comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. It’s a beautiful place to stay, highly recommended. If you’re going to Sligo, do check it out.
