Murphy's Hotel

We came as a group last weekend, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very flexible beforehand to make things work for us, and the service on the day was exceptional.

The French toast was perfect, and the breakfast menu had something for everyone. This was a lovely stay in a family-run hotel, with a welcoming, friendly check-in and professional staff who gave excellent service. Our room was spacious and had all modern facilities. There’s good parking at the rear beside supervalue, and a lift to the rooms. The hotel’s in a great location, 20 minutes from Knock airport. Highly recommend it, and we’ll be back.

We visited from America and stayed here in June of 2025. Tubbercurry seemed like a sleepy little town from what we saw, though we walked around on a Sunday afternoon and that may explain it. It had all the amenities we needed as travelers. Murphy's was a great base for our day trips around the area, and we’d definitely stay again next time we’re out that way. The room was clean and quiet, with a good bed and excellent shower. The space was comfortable and put together well without feeling pretentious. We also had a handful of meals in the restaurant downstairs. They were delicious, and the staff were friendly and provided very good service. On Sunday evening, it seemed like half the town came to the restaurant at Murphy's for live traditional Irish music. It was a lovely extra with dinner, and it felt clear that the town was doing it for itself, rather than putting on a show for tourists.

The staff were attentive and patient, and there’s an excellent, extensive menu. I called in for lunch and would definitely say it’s worth a visit.
