Castle Arch Hotel

Breakfast was a small selection, but it was fresh and tasty, and keeping the options limited seems to avoid food waste. The location and price were great too. We found the rooms clean and nicely presented, and the reception staff, breakfast team, and housekeeping were all welcoming and attentive.

Breakfast was lovely, and the morning staff were great, but I really needed a proper night’s sleep. During the Púca Festival, noise from next door came through the very thin walls and kept us awake. I know that wasn’t entirely the hotel’s fault, though I hoped reception might help by about 1am. There was also a light flashing on the ceiling, possibly from the smoke alarm, which made it hard to sleep. I called reception to ask if it could be reset, but felt the night porter didn’t really believe me. He offered to come up, but I wasn’t comfortable with that so late at night, and we never got it sorted. I got up at 7am and left.

The personalized menus and the slideshow set up during the service helped make our family meal after the funeral feel like a celebration of life. I’m very grateful to all the staff at the Castle Arch Hotel for how patient and professional they were, including with all the children. There were 195 of us, and Danny and his team handled the dinner with ease. The soup and mains were delicious and extremely hot, from the first person served to the last. Everyone was happy, and our guests had lots of compliments. A sincere thank you from me and my family.

The hot breakfast was freshly made and tasted great, though the buffet could offer more choice. We stayed just one night while visiting Emerald Park and seeing the area. The family room suited the four of us well, with plenty of space, eight towels and a nespresso machine. It was quiet, and the breakfast staff were helpful and friendly.
