Lakelands Farm Guesthouse

Annette was so pleasant and let us know we could use the kitchen fridge to keep some food there, which was really helpful. Our host was welcoming, the place was spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. It was quiet, too, and my wife and I both enjoyed our stay. Tea, coffee, and pastries were available in the morning. Thanks, Annette. We'll be back.

The setting is lovely, but I wouldn't recommend staying here. The rooms and building feel very old and poorly cared for. The bins hadn't been cleaned, there was no toilet paper, and I worried the sheets hadn't been changed. We had to leave the windows open because of a bad smell. When we asked to pay by card, the receptionist was quite rude and said she preferred cash. After reading the reviews, I'm starting to wonder if people have been paid to write the positive ones.

The views and shared spaces are wonderful, and the location gives the place a lot of potential. But upkeep is minimal, the furniture is worn, and service is very limited. What was offered was plastic-wrapped pastries, hot water, and filter coffee. There also seemed to be a strong preference for cash.

Anette was a wonderful host and really attentive to what guests needed. We spent two lovely days at the Lakelands Farm House. It's warm and cosy, with a great view across the lake. We'd gladly recommend it and hope to return someday. Anja & Carl
