Knockranny House Hotel & Spa

We had a courtyard view from the room, while the restaurant and bar had a gorgeous view. Breakfast was lovely. The carpet flooring could use better maintenance. There’s no EV charging station, but there is an extension outlet where you can plug in a granny charger. Charging overnight is very slow and costs 20euro.

The pool was nice, but the changing room showers need work. Our kids couldn’t use the pool during the prime hours because a school lesson was scheduled then, which was a big disappointment. The food and ale were variable, and although some staff were very pleasant, others could be frosty. The rooms were generally good, but the price felt like a stretch for what you got. Not great value overall.

The food was outstanding, with every dish beautifully presented and delicious. The dining room views of Croagh Patrick were breathtaking, and the scenery made both breakfast and dinner feel special. Chris, Peter, and Kristian deserve a special mention for their attentiveness, kindness, and easy professionalism. They made us feel like valued friends, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Everyone we met was genuinely friendly and welcoming, possibly the friendliest hotel staff we’ve ever come across. Knockranny Park Hotel in Westport delivers on the food, views, and service. We left looking forward to another visit and would wholeheartedly recommend it. Gary & Debbie

The car park was great, with plenty of spaces, and the shower was the biggest we’ve had so far, with the shower head set away from the wall. Apart from that, the hotel was pretty good but nothing special. It’s an older place, and the hot water at the sink sometimes lost pressure and made a god-awful groaning noise that I swear could’ve woken everyone on that wing. The toilet also struggled to flush everything.
