Royal Shangri-La Eilat

We loved the quiet, pastoral feel of this hotel outside the city, along with the stunning views and high level of service. The rooms were super clean, and the beds were comfortable. Some of the most beautiful beaches, with coral reefs for snorkeling and diving, are right next to the hotel, which was perfect for us. We’ll definitely be back.

The free food in the lounge all day was really good, and the view was lovely. Prices were decent overall. Some rooms are good and look like the pictures, while others really don’t. The hotel looks very luxurious in general, but the standard rooms aren’t nicer than the orchid rooms, which is a shame. I’d recommend a private villa or above if you want the Shangri-la experience without disappointment.

We waited 3 hours for a room after being told it would take only 15 mins, then left immediately to stay somewhere else. The rooms were old and dirty, and looked NOTHING like the online pictures. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. We’ve stayed at 5 star hotels in over 30 countries, and this definitely isn’t one. Maybe 3 stars at best!

I’ve stayed at hotels across israel and around the globe, and I’ve never seen such a misleading difference between the website photos and reality. The place was dirty, damp, smelly, and falling apart. The pool was tiny, the grass was fake, and the materials were coming apart. Service was terrible too. Our whole group was absolutely shocked by the state of the place compared with the stunning photos on the website.
