Al Yakhour Hostel

The host offered to pick up medicine for me when I broke my ankle and couldn't go get it myself. That was above and beyond. The hostel is clean and welcoming, and the staff are amazing people.

We spent ten days here and felt very comfortable. Tamour, Ahmed, Hunter, and one woman whose name I don't know were always cooperative and ready to help. The friendly atmosphere made it feel like home, and the breakfast was really nice too. It's an affordable, very pleasant hostel that I'd recommend for groups or solo travelers.

The hummus and pita at the hostel's restaurant were really good, and there are plenty of nice places to eat nearby. The location is handy for downtown, and the bus stop right outside can get you around the city. The rooms were decent, the air conditioning worked, and the clean showers and bathrooms were fine. My one problem was the staff members sleeping in my room. They were loud and disruptive late at night. If I'd stayed longer, I would have contacted the owner or manager, and I'm sure they would have sorted it out. Still, it's a good spot.

The staff made the hostel feel so welcoming, and the traditional Palestinian food was a highlight. There are indoor and outdoor common areas, plus a well-equipped kitchen. I spent a few days there and really enjoyed the rooms too. It's within walking distance of the train station, with bus stops for the beach close by. I hope to return.
