Maya Guest House - German Colony and Bahai Gardens

The owner was friendly and courteous, which made everything easy. Maya Guest House is a lovely, clean, and safe place near the heart of Haifa. The bus station is only a short trip away, and the Baha'i garden is right in the neighborhood, with plenty of food and shopping nearby. The closest beach was for men only, unfortunately, but the next beach open to everyone is also close.

I stayed for almost a month and was very happy to recommend this lovely guesthouse. Sam is a wonderful host and a nice person, always responsive to my requests on WhatsApp. The property had what I needed, including dishes and utensils, an iron, and a kettle and coffee machine. There’s also a washer and dryer in the yard, free to use. The location beat my expectations: the Bahai gardens are just around the corner, with small grocery stores and street food choices nearby. The train station is a ten-minute walk.

The location was hard to beat. Sam’s place is walkable to lots of good restaurants, public transport, and the Bahai Gardens, yet it was surprisingly quiet and peaceful right in the middle of the German Colony. The apartment was as described and had the essentials, plus an effective A/C unit that was critical in the July heat. Sam was a FANTASTIC host and made the whole experience great from start to finish. My only complaint is that I couldn’t stay longer. I’d love to be hosted by him again. If you’re looking for a place in Haifa, stay here. It’s a perfect setup for solo travelers and couples.
