Jerusalem Gate Hotel

The late-night customer service was especially unpleasant. We got locked out of our room during our three-night stay, and the front desk gave us a hard time trying to get someone to open it. They even called us “children.” The hotel itself had dingy, dark hallways, cheap bedding and TVs, and a very outdated bathroom with really bad towels. I’m not sure whether the elevators are poorly calibrated, but we could wait 15 minutes for one to open. I’d spend a few extra dollars to stay somewhere else.

The only real plus is the convenient location. The hotel is rundown and not clean: there was broken glass on the floor beside the bed when we arrived, and the bathroom was dirty. The next day, housekeeping made the beds while we were out, but didn’t clean the bathroom. We also found more broken glass under the coffee table. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Check-in went very smoothly, but the elevator was a little cranky. There wasn’t an outlet in the restroom, and outside noise was bad at night because the hotel is at the city entrance. Having a shopping center right below the hotel was nice.

The bathroom wasn’t ready for us when we arrived, with hairs left in the tub. The shower head was damaged too, and I had to keep pushing its holes back in to get a decent stream. The mattress was worn out and sagged in the middle. This place feels very old and needs an urgent update, or at least basic maintenance and replacements.
