Lago Suites Hotel

We left that first night and had to find another hotel late, because none of the alternatives offered by reception seemed tolerable. One had a large puddle on the floor, with water getting in through both the windows and the door. They didn't offer to clean our room or make it acceptable. Dinner and breakfast were supposed to be included, but there were no dining facilities. When we asked about dinner, we were told they would take us “somewhere,” with no clear idea where. We'd arrived by taxi on a rainy night, and even the driver was shocked by the condition and location. The hotel is far from the Old City, opposite a brothel, in an abandoned industrial building that felt frightening at night. Parts of it have been converted into rooms, but they did not meet basic standards. Rain and wind came through the closed windows, soaking the walls. Water also leaked from the ceiling, apparently from the roof. It was so drafty I thought anyone sleeping there would catch a cold. The bathroom was filthy, with hair and drops of urine on the toilet. The two “complimentary” water bottles had been opened and refilled, and there were hairs and empty bottles under the bed. The cleaning was shocking. I have never stayed in such a horrible hotel. The owners tried to turn parts of the abandoned building into hotel rooms, but failed. The quality and service were deplorable, and at 250 euros a night it wasn't even cheap. Do not book or stay here. One more thing: five of the eight reviews shown here, along with the hotel's replies, appeared exactly one week ago. They were all five-star reviews posted after another bad review. That seems very suspicious to me, and I don't believe they reflect reality. Judge for yourselves.
