It's a simple, antique, and distinctive eucharistic site, with a huge oval table-shaped rock like the ones in Byzantine images of the Mystical Supper. Few groups take time to visit, but it's an important place for devotion, and worth setting aside time to pray. Pick up the key at the Franciscan Pilgrim Center across from the main basilica. This isn't the Mensa Christi of St Peter's Primacy in Tabgha.

The church was closed, so I couldn't go inside. I was still surprised to find out that Jesus ate a stone.

A peaceful, clean place to stay, with wonderful service from Yousef and the staff. Mensa Christi felt like a home away from home and made my time in Nazareth even more special, the perfect finishing touch. Thank you!

A lot of the photos are wrong. This one should have the red dome. Don't confuse it with St. Peter Primacy at Tabgha.

The name Mensa Christi means "Table of Christ" in Latin. It holds a granite slab that tradition says is the rock where Jesus ate with the disciples after his resurrection.
