The memorial area is being extensively renovated and there’s a lot of construction right now. In the shade of the old olive tree, I’ll say my prayers and mourn the millions of victims who never got to enjoy the beautiful city of Tel Aviv, Israel. May their memories be a blessing to their families, and may the world never forget.

Rabin Square is a large gathering place in central Tel Aviv, in front of City Hall. It hosts celebrations and protests, and looks beautiful by day and at night. There are plenty of restaurants, cafés, bakeries, and bars around it. From the square, take a shady walk along Gordon Street toward the beach, where the trees seem to have an artistic language of their own. The square was once called Israel's Kings Square and was named for late Israeli PM Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated nearby. The Tel Aviv municipality building towers over it. I suppose it’s comparable to Venice's St. Mark's Square or London's Trafalgar Square, though much less impressive.

Families come to the square for picnics on weekends, which is a lovely sight. Otherwise, there isn’t a great deal to do besides seeing the monument. Rabin Square, formerly called Israel's Kings Square, was named after late Israeli PM Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated nearby. The Tel Aviv municipality building looms above it. I guess it’s like Venice's St. Mark's Square or London's Trafalgar Square, but far less impressive.

The square may not make much of an impression at first, but it brings political life and everyday routines together in a nice way. There are coffee shops around it, and in good weather you can sit on a chair beside the pool with a coffee. If a political rally happens to be going on, that’s an added bonus.

It’s a meeting spot, especially for shows and holiday events. There’s also the sad historical memory of Itzhak Rabin’s murder, with the municipality of Tel-Aviv here.
