Sky Hostel

The room itself was fine and had what I needed for two nights: a bed, bathroom, little table, mismatched chairs and a funny fake plant leaning out of its pot. A mini-fridge would have helped, because the shared one downstairs felt a little creepy. The area is noisy, and the hotel has little atmosphere, so a lobby full of drifters might put you off. Still, the location is great, near all those nice beach hotels you're not staying at. :-) I was originally booked at Momo's nearby, but after I changed the booking, they put me in Sky Hostel. I paid extra for AC, only to find it was connected to a motion detector that shut it off when I wasn't moving, like when I was asleep. That was annoying.

The only upside I can think of is how close it is to the sea. I was glad to stay just one night. The room was extremely basic, the shared shower and toilet were dirty, there was no lift, and WiFi only worked at reception. Plywood doors let in all the street noise, so I couldn't sleep properly. The staff weren't friendly or helpful. The common area was a few sofas by reception, while the kitchen was a kettle, fridge, and microwave right beside a toilet. And there was a cockroach in my bed. If it hadn't been so late, I would have found somewhere else. I also saw several rats near the backpack storage area, where they charge 5 NIS for leaving your bag after checkout. Worst hostel I've ever stayed in.

I would've left for somewhere else if they gave refunds. There isn't a lift, and the rooms are so tiny I feel like only one person could fit. The restroom had no paper towels, and the locks aren't good. Their “free” breakfast is just coffee and cake, and anything better costs extra. If anyone asks where to stay, I'd tell them anywhere but here, even the airport.

A very basic hostel. I was there over the weekend. Maybe the bed I got was clean, but don't expect much. Breakfast was a premade sandwich with coffee, tea, or juice. I'd have given it one star, except there's a roof and it's fairly close to the sea.
