THE GUTMAN TLV - Neve Tzedek

The room was well maintained, though not very soundproof. The hotel has a great vibe, it was really clean, and the staff were very helpful. I loved the breakfast. The location is amazing.

For exploring a relaxed neighborhood on foot, the location is hard to beat. There are plenty of cafes and good restaurants nearby, including the famous railway that’s been turned into a long park. We stayed two nights with breakfast included and highly recommend the hotel. The breakfast was fresh, tasty and filling, and the attentive staff did a great job making us feel welcome and looking after what we needed.

The room was very nice for a reasonable price, and the location on the edge of Neve Tzedek is great. We took the larger room with a balcony, which was spacious, with a big, well-equipped bathroom and a comfortable bed. It was quiet at night, so we slept well. Breakfast, though, was a real disappointment. Maybe it was because it was Saturday. We got around ten small plates of things like okra, tuna salad, eggplant salad and egg salad, with no explanation of what was what. The two small Shakshuka dishes seemed premade and reheated, and weren’t very good. There was no omelette or other egg option, perhaps because it was Saturday. The salad and bread were the only good parts, and the short espresso came in a large Cappuccino cup. Staff were so-so. I called about four times the day before arrival and got no answer or callback, so I started worrying whether the reservation was valid. On arrival day, it took two unanswered calls before they finally called back. Check-in was only OK: the front desk person didn’t know a lot, and some computer steps took her unnecessary time. She brought us to the room, opened the door, and left without checking if it was OK or showing us anything, even basic things like the AC remote or coffee machine.

A lovely new hotel gem in Neve Tzedik, with beautiful rooms full of character. It’s an easy walk to transportation and to the cool restaurants and bars nearby. Special thanks to the hotel manager, Mohanad, whose warm hospitality and welcoming presence made the stay even better.
