The O Pod Hotel

They put my friend and me in neighboring pods when we requested it, since we’d booked for the same night. The place is great for a central one or two night stay in Tel Aviv at a reasonable price, especially if you’re petite. I’m not sure how comfortable it would be for taller people. There’s a good-sized locker, plus a locker room, and private women’s and men’s toilets and showers as well as one single private facility. One thing is misleading: it says there’s AC, but it’s actually a fan. The fan switches off when you take your key out, so it won’t stay on while you’re away.

We got a two-person pod that suited our needs perfectly, and the service was great. I arrived without a charger, and the person at the counter lent me one. The shared bathrooms and showers were clean and in very good condition. There are lockers for luggage and bags too.

For a night or two, the place may be reasonable, but I’d think twice about staying longer. The shared showers and toilets aren’t clean enough and have an unpleasant smell that sometimes spreads through the hotel. The AC makes a constant, unpleasant humming noise, so bring earplugs if you’re sensitive to sound.

The storage locker area is unsafe and inconvenient for guests when bikes and scooters are kept there. They block access to luggage, and because they’re locked, they could be kept downstairs or somewhere else. The hostel should provide a separate space for them. E-bikes are very heavy and could fall on someone and hurt them, so please get the bikes out of the luggage storage. The reception guy was also way too involved in our business, asking where we were going, what we were doing, and for how long. He wasn’t nice at all. He was bald, though I don’t know his name, so that’s just to identify him.
