David Hostel - Hostel

David and Ariella were wonderful hosts, warm and accommodating, with advice and support whenever we needed it. The hostel felt like a home away from home. Our room was a good size, spacious and nicely decorated, very clean, and we liked having our own fridge. There are two kitchens with plenty of room to cook, plus lots of space at the dining tables. Rooms were cleaned daily, and it was clear how much pride David and Ariella take in the hostel. The walk up from the Sea takes about 25 minutes and goes up a steep hill, so expect to take a bus or taxi, or get sweaty. But bus stops to nearby and farther places are very handy, and the hill is a small inconvenience for a stay worth the effort. We’d recommend it to all our friends and would happily rent a room here for life. We’d definitely return.

Ariella and David were so warm, and I’d really love to see them again. They were happy to answer all our questions about Tiberias and Israel in general. When we arrived, we were handed cold water right away, which was a real relief in temperatures over 30 degrees, and the air-conditioned rooms were cool. The hostel and rooms were very clean and tidy, and we felt comfortable. I’ve never experienced such extraordinary hospitality. It was better than any hotel I’ve stayed in, so I’d gladly give it 100 stars. We want to come again :) Ariella, I miss you already.

The only downside was having to leave so soon, and that wasn’t the hosts’ fault :) Ariella made us feel welcome the moment we arrived, and David answered all our questions, from where to find the tombs of famous rabbis in Tiberias to the best route to Jerusalem. Staying at the David Hostel was one of the best parts of our Israel trip.
