King Solomon Hotel Tiberias

The buffet had so many dishes, and the food was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUSLY YUMMY. The location is beautiful, the rooms are great, and it has a real vacation vibe. It doesn’t feel like a typical hotel.

We went for three nights in August during Ben Hazmanim. Parking was available either on the street or in the lot, and the lobby is nice. The hotel is fairly priced compared with others nearby. We liked the breakfast, despite the complaints in other reviews. There was a quick-moving line to get into the dining room because the hotel was full and may not have had enough seats. Once inside, there was plenty to choose from, including fresh bread, cheese, eggs, desserts, fruit and salads. The views are magnificent, but the hotel isn’t close enough to the kinneret to walk there. The pool is a decent size and has a kiddie pool, though it takes a bit of walking to reach it. We were assigned one of the older rooms, which were terrible, probably dating from around the 1970s. I’d pay extra for a newer room next time. The hallways had no air conditioning, a real problem in Teveria during a week when it was 110 F. The two small, outdated elevators also had no air conditioning and were packed. We often waited at least 15-20 minutes. Hotel workers used them too, so a cleaning cart could take up space and leave a crowd waiting for the next one. Despite these issues, we enjoyed the stay overall, though I’d book a newer room next time.

The view of Tiberius was gorgeous, and the room itself was alright, but the shower was poor. The worst part was getting trapped in the elevator for over five minutes. It had been shaking for a while, and the experience was frightening. I told the manager, who didn’t seem to care. I was told it happens, as if the incident wasn’t their concern. They offered no attention or compensation.

The indoor gym was great for intense workouts. This is an amazing place to stay, with good food and nice views.
