Hotel Viren International

The owner was friendly, but the stay was really bad. The room cost 800 even though I was there alone, and I couldn't tell what the auto driver and hotel owner were saying about it. The room and bedsheet were dirty, and so was the bathroom toilet.

I booked through MMT on the morning I was staying. The photos gave the wrong impression, and the place was either very [unclear] or very dirty. It felt more suited to groups hanging out and getting drunk than to families. The room boy took me to a nearby hotel that was decent. I'd call this place average.

We came from Goa and arrived on the morning of the 9th. We had booked a non-AC room for 1200, but the owner asked for 1500, saying he'd return the extra 300 when we left. He never did. He also pushed us to book a vehicle for 1200 to visit six tourist spots. While we waited for the driver, he offered tea to five of us, which we hadn't ordered, then asked us to pay for it when we were leaving. The driver came after about half an hour and took us to the Taj Mahal, around 4 km from Viren International Hotel. Since demonetisation had been announced the previous night, on November 8, the Taj Mahal ticket counter wouldn't accept 500 notes. We managed to get tickets, then told the driver we didn't want to visit the other places, including Lal Kila, and asked for our money back. He drove us to the hotel, but the owner refused to refund the vehicle charge even though we'd gone to just one spot, only 4 km away, for 1200. The room was filthy, the bath water was salty and hard, and the toilets had no flush. We argued for an hour but got none of our money back. The owners are cheating tourists, and the place is unhygienic enough to make you sick. Such a bad experience in Agra. Please don't book here.

We didn't even stay in the room they gave us. The condition of the hotel and the attendant's behavior were so bad that we left, and they didn't try to offer another room. The facilities, service, and experience were all awful.
