Saura Hotel, Agra – A Club Mahindra Associate

The last interaction at breakfast and checkout with Amit left me uncomfortable and overshadowed a stay that had mostly been very good. We asked for four bananas to take away, one for each guest, and were charged for a full fruit platter. I’ve never had a hotel charge that way for a simple takeaway fruit item. It may be their procedure, but the amount felt out of proportion and unnecessary. We’d earlier declined a food package of about INR 10,000 because our dietary needs were specific and a set buffet was unlikely to work for us. In that context, the charge for a few bananas felt pointed. There was plenty to like before that. We were welcomed warmly and offered an early check-in when we arrived ahead of schedule. They also accommodated our brunch request and dietary requirements. The room was spacious, clean, thoughtfully stocked, and had sustainability features. The shower leaked and flooded the bathroom, but as we were there only one night, we didn’t mention it at the time. We later heard the neighbouring room had the same problem. Dinner at the Mughal restaurant beside the pool was a highlight. The head chef personally helped us and adjusted the menu for our needs. The food was excellent and the service impeccable, though one song played over and over during dinner. Shyam was attentive and thoughtful at brunch, and our host Shikha was exceptionally kind, even helping one of my guests with her saree. The whole Mughal restaurant team made dinner memorable. Checkout itself went smoothly. The staff overall were excellent, and without the way Amit handled breakfast and checkout, I’d have no hesitation recommending Saura Hotel.

I love this hotel. The hospitality is so warm, and I especially love the Turkish Mughlai restaurant food. At The Saura Hotel, Agra, there are large grounds with green lawns and a pool, plus a spa, several restaurants, and a modern fitness centre. The hotel highlights family comfort. You can get traditional Mughlai dishes, chaat, and well-known sweets like petha, made from sweetened white pumpkin.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice, and its location near the expressway is convenient. The staff are polite and the service is good. On my first visit, a sandwich we ordered had threads inside. The chef came over and apologized a lot. I treated it as human error, but it was frightening because my five-year-old was eating it, and thankfully we noticed before he swallowed any. I think the property should review its hygiene procedures to prevent this happening again. The rooms are clean, though they could use a few touch-ups. We left some belongings in the room, and the staff promptly arranged to send them to my address. That kind of honesty is hard to find these days, and I was impressed. For Agra prices, it’s good value, and I’d recommend the hotel.

Mr. Sadish was the standout person on our family trip to India. He was the most gentlemanly person we met and showed sincere hospitality throughout. As a chef, he was amazing. He kept a close eye on the guests while also communicating with and supporting the other staff. His professionalism, kindness, and leadership impressed us. We believe he’s highly capable and outstanding. We’d definitely stay at this hotel again as long as Mr. Sadish works there.
