The Oberoi Amarvilas, Agra

The team made us feel welcome from beginning to end, with thoughtful recommendations and little treats and surprises that made the stay feel special. Chef Shreeya and Riya at the restaurant check-in desk were especially sweet and warm. Other staff members were just as lovely, though I can't remember all their names. They also have electric golf carts to take you to the Taj.

We loved our time here and wished we'd stayed longer. The staff were the best part, with outstanding service and a real focus on making the visit special. The hotel is very close to the Taj Mahal, and its free golf cart takes you right to the front door, something no other hotel can provide. It seems purpose-built to give visitors a great Taj experience. The two restaurants were both excellent: one serves international food in a relaxed setting for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; the other is Michelin star rated, offers a prefix and à la carte menu, plays live music, and focuses on Indian cuisine. We tried the prefix menu and it was outstanding. The grounds make for magnificent photos, and although the hotel is close to everything, trees screen it from the city sounds, so it feels peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are well appointed with monitored amenities and traditional decor. When we return with family, we'll definitely stay here again.

Our server was the best part of dinner at Bellevue: sweet, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout the meal. The food was good and flavorful, and the elegant, peaceful ambience suited the luxury of Oberoi Agra, near the Taj Mahal in the heart of the city. Still, a miscommunication with senior staff took the evening in a disappointing direction. Their response felt rude and judgmental, which was especially frustrating in such a premium setting. More courtesy from the leadership team would improve the experience. I'd recommend staying at Oberoi Agra for its beauty and location, but would keep dining expectations measured until senior staff training improves.

We stayed one night at the Oberoi with our family to see the Taj Mahal, and had a lovely visit. The service was excellent, with every detail handled from arrival through departure. The kids were well looked after both at the pool and during dinner. Nikhat and Abhay's personal attention was especially nice.
