The rooms are good, but the service and amenities were very poor. The water was salty, and there wasn’t anything nearby in the way of facilities. The food quality was also very bad.

The room itself was great, with modern amenities, a thermostat that worked well, a cozy blanket, and nice pillows. There was plenty of space to charge devices, plus a small dining table with two chairs and a long desk for office work. The large glass window looked onto a nearby building. Basement parking was available. But during my three-day stay, I never got a key. Every time I wanted to enter, I had to ask staff to open the room, and they were really lousy. They also failed to mention that breakfast was included. The restaurant shuts at 11 PM, so order dinner before then if you want it in the room. Zomato delivery was allowed, which saved me from going hungry. 😐

We had booked the banquet and around 30 rooms with Avalon for our May wedding, with weddings.in as the event partner. Just 15 days before the wedding, the hotel opened a COVID care center and made the whole property available to COVID patients. Nobody bothered to tell us. We had to scramble to book another venue at short notice, and it cost much more than we expected. Since the last week of April, we’ve also been chasing the advance refund. Avalon’s management and weddings.in keep sending us back and forth between them. We called at least three or four times a day, but the hotel management didn’t respond and the weddings.in employees didn’t either. We keep being given a new refund date every other day. Pathetic management and service. I’d warn anyone booking an important event or holiday to stay away, or risk having it spoiled too.

My wedding reception was ruined by the way the management handled things. After we complained, they just blamed each other and did nothing. Nobody even apologized. They seem to care about getting money, not about your function. The hall and its management are pathetic. Please don’t book this place for your wedding or reception. If you want your function spoiled, go ahead. WORST HALL IN AHMEDABAD.
