The Haveli has old world charm in its design, though it's a bit dusty. But the old town location was a mistake for us. I usually like staying in older parts of town for the architecture and markets, but this area was noisy and polluted from traffic and late night parties. Our top floor room had old, mostly broken wooden shutters instead of windows, so there was no noise insulation. After barely sleeping through the night, we left after one night.

Mukeshji took time to tell me the history of the house and let me explore all four stories. Since I was alone, new to the place, and struggling with auto, he even took me to the temple where my heritage walk started, without me asking. Devijis chai was one of the best teas I've had anywhere, definitely the best in Gujarat, and the theplas were just as good. The lanes are narrow and crowded, so getting there was a little difficult, but it was worth it. This beautiful heritage house sits inside the UNESCO heritage city and is full of history. It's a hotel/B&B with only three rooms, and I was lucky to get the heritage king suite. The restoration kept the traditional architecture, including the underground well, which I'm still amazed I got to see, along with the wooden stairs, ceilings, and doors. They stayed true to the heritage feel. The house and its people were absolutely wonderful.

The narrow lanes make getting there a bit tricky, but it's totally worth it if you want that Haveli wala feel. We stayed in the Heritage Deluxe room and loved it. The place was well maintained and gave a real heritage feel. Since it's an old property, we were unsure about upkeep before booking, but it surprised us with its decent maintenance and all the amenities. Staff were kind and polite, and explained the property well. Manek chowk is less than 500m away.

Deewanji Ni Haveli is a lovely place for a photoshoot or a peaceful getaway. The property has been beautifully preserved, with striking heritage architecture and warm vintage character. It feels made for photography, with aesthetically pleasing corners everywhere. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with plenty of cultural character, and the polite, helpful staff made the stay pleasant. A gem for its elegance and authentic aesthetic vibe.

A wonderful traditional old town house, almost like staying in a museum. It sits amid the activity of the Old Town, yet the house itself is quiet and comfortable, with AC. Markets are nearby, and Tuk Tuk City Tours are available. Highly recommended.
