We booked online at price X, but when we arrived the owners demanded 2X or said we'd have to leave. Other guests with us had the same complaint. The online platform tried to reach the owners to sort it out, but they didn't answer calls or emails. We ended up paying 2X. The rooms were still awful. We asked twice for cleaning, yet the washroom had stains and human hairs everywhere. The power went out for more than an hour at night. There was no generator or room ventilation, so it was suffocating unless you slept with the doors open. The owners clearly don't understand online pre-booking. I'd sooner sleep in a train station waiting room. Even a platform might be better value for money than this abomination of a hotel.

We booked two rooms at Hotel Regal through MakeMyTrip in November because it was close to the Motera stadium, where the finals were being held in Ahmedabad. When we arrived, the owner said the booking had been cancelled the day before and that MakeMyTrip had been notified. I never received a cancellation message. We were four people, including my mother and wife, and we'd been travelling since 3 AM without a chance to use a washroom. It was extremely stressful. The owner sent us upstairs to Hotel Shivaay to check availability. The only room there cost ₹6,000. In a hurry and with no other option, we took it temporarily, but one small room for four wasn't feasible. Soon after, they said another room was available at Hotel Regal, so we had to pay ₹12,000 for two rooms. At least five other customers who'd booked through MakeMyTrip had the same issue, losing half a day and dealing with unnecessary stress. Customers arriving at Hotel Shivaay, which is also tied up with MakeMyTrip, were shocked and redirected to Regal too. Scam alert, don't even think of these guys during cricket matches in Motera.

The location is good, near the Airport, with restaurants nearby serving all types of food. I really liked the hotel and the very friendly, polite staff.
