Hotel Dev Palace

The hot water wasn’t really working, and we got tired of waiting, so we checked out. Coffee was 50 rupees for a small glass, brought in from a man on the street. We also faced an extra 900 rupee charge for one room and six hours in the morning after we’d booked for one night by phone and asked if arriving early was okay. They’d said it was no problem, but after we’d slept for a couple of hours, they demanded the money or said they’d kick us out. The owner was rude when we objected and brought up the free Wi-Fi, as though that justified the charge. I’m guessing that was another attempt to get money from us. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, and I’ve travelled a lot. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. The other reviews look fake or arranged to me, just FYI.

I travelled to Ajmer for darshan and was really disappointed with the auto drivers and hotel Dev Palace. Even though I had a hotel booked, the auto driver took me somewhere they had a tie-up. The drivers all seemed to have hotel arrangements, and I was charged 2000 RS for one night for a place that wasn’t worth even about 1000 RS. I think that hotel was around 800, and 100 RS of what I paid went to the auto driver as commission. Please be careful, they’re all fraud. Book your hotel online and travel with Ola cabs.

The hotel had changed its name, so come with full assurance. Staff were very rude and behaved badly. Even with a prior booking, they refused to give us a room. After we waited two hours, we finally got one, but the room service and facilities were awful. No one should ever choose this hotel.

The hotel is about an 800m walk from the main Dargah, but it’s unhygienic and has no kitchen. They didn’t give us an extra blanket, and the room service was poor.
