Being close enough to walk to the dargah and market is the main reason to choose this place, and the owner and staff were genuinely kind and attentive. Room service was good, and even with the cramped, dirty rooms, it felt better than the other guest houses and hotels nearby. We had three triple rooms and one six-bed room for 12 people. The bathroom fittings were broken, the sheets were dirty, and the remotes didn’t work. The six-bed room’s AC drained into a bottle inside the room, which needed emptying every few hours or the floor would flood. It’s a very basic, down-market hotel. If being near the Dargah for ziarat of Gareeb Nawaz is your top priority, it may work. For more space and cleanliness, Sarovar Portico is tidier, but it’s farther away and means taking auto rides through narrow lanes to get to the dargah. Your call.

I wouldn’t recommend Hotel Royal Suites, Ajmer. The manager was arrogant and no help, the room hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the service overall was extremely poor. A really disappointing stay.
