Mansingh Palace Ajmer

The clean, decent rooms and central city location made it easy to get anywhere. But booking was a bad experience. I had discussed the rates with them and was supposed to book at the desk, yet they quoted a higher price for both the regular and Lakeview rooms. I checked in at 10:30 at night, and the man there was really rude. He kept raising the online price in front of me and showing the rooms as sold out, trying to be smart.

We were told at check-in that the swimming pool was under maintenance and guests couldn't use it. The next day, though, we saw another child in the pool. That felt unfair and misleading, since guests should get equal treatment and accurate information. It was a very disappointing experience. I hope management improves its transparency and customer service.

The guards made the place feel hostile from the moment I arrived. They were arrogant and seemed more focused on watching me and my belongings suspiciously than helping. Their bad eye and judgmental attitude made me feel like an intruder instead of a paying guest. I've never felt so unwelcome. Avoid this place, it felt unsafe.

Breakfast choices were limited, but the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Nathu Ji and Sonam Ji at reception. The lobby astrologer, Pandit Vikram Joshi, was another highlight. His palm reading felt quite accurate and insightful, and costs ₹500 per person. There's also a rooftop pub that opened last year. I had a cozy, comfortable and pleasant stay at Hotel Mansingh, and would recommend it for a relaxed visit to Ajmer.
