Fool's Paradise

The swimming pool is quite great, though being in a natural area with trees means there may occasionally be ants and other little creatures around. In a tropical climate there’s biodiversity around you all the time, so just be aware. The room was comfortable, with good AC, plenty of storage, and even a locker. The shower was solid, the bathroom spacious, and the verandah wonderful. The place is about 4ish km from Alappuzha railway station and about 2km from the main restaurants, so having a vehicle helps. Otherwise, you’ll need to call an auto and may wait 10 minutes sometimes. That was fine with me on vacation. The owner, Mr. George, and manager Mr. Shibu were prompt and helpful. Mr. Shibu even spoke to the auto driver on my phone and guided him to the right place, though Google Maps works well too. I booked on impulse through the hotels dot com website and fully enjoyed my stay. This is a fantastic homestay, which some local auto drivers call "resort hotel in Thumboly". For boating tours and other activities around town, do your own research to find the best prices. I’ve already recommended this place to friends, and hope to return.

The place has a nice vibe for a meal with family and friends, and the staff are friendly. The food is really tasty and fresh, with authentic flavors, good portions, and excellent presentation.

Caretaker shibu was incredibly sweet and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed. He helped arrange an auto, sightseeing, and a black water shikara ride. The homestay was cozy and comfortable, just right for a relaxing getaway. Breakfast was amazing, fresh and tasty, and felt like something straight from home. We had such a great time. It was a peaceful, enjoyable stay, great for unwinding and exploring a bit. Highly recommend!

A calm, beautiful place close to the beach. The swimming pool is small but good enough. I’d recommend it.
