It’s a reasonable option if you need a cheap one-day stay near Alleppey jetty and bus stand, but I wouldn’t choose the non AC room if a good night’s sleep matters. The room was clean enough, but stuffy. There’s no mosquito net on the windows and no repellent, so opening them to escape the heat meant mosquitoes and a sleepless night. The synthetic bedsheet made the heat harder to bear, and the only towel was old and ratty. This could be decent if the owner made more effort to provide better facilities, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

We booked for four people but were given a smaller room with three beds, and the fourth person got only a foam mat. The rooms weren’t well maintained or decorated, despite the exterior, and all we had was a basic room with an attached washroom. I’m not sure why it’s called a “homestay.” The owner kept watching and commenting on what we did. Terrace access was restricted because of a small solar panel, and even the swing couldn’t be used. A disappointing stay, and the hospitality needs real improvement. It felt more like a hostel than a homestay.

For 600 rupees a day for one person, they gave me a nice room just behind the main homestay. It was in good condition and clean, but the fan ran too slowly to move enough air.

The boat jetty and bus stand are both nearby. Since I stayed in August, during the low season, I was able to pay a reasonable extra amount for a bigger room with a balcony. It was Rs. 600 per night, which felt cheap. The staff were super friendly.

The rooms are affordable and close to the finishing point, across from the Ksrtc stand alappuzha. Please call them before booking through an online site.
