This heritage property is clean and well kept, with large rooms, high ceilings, and roomy bathrooms. Meals are served in a shared area, and there's a nice aquarium in the back veranda for kids. They ask guests to leave their footwear outside to help keep things clean, but don't provide anything to wear indoors. The property can feel quite different in low season and peak season, so take the reviews with a pinch of salt. There aren't any room amenities, and the towels are torn and in poor shape. Even though we had paid extra for a child, they wouldn't provide an extra bed or pillow. Hot water only worked in the morning, and in the evening we had to ask and plead with management. There were lots of mosquitoes and insects, with no repellent provided. Breakfast isn't worth booking: it's just one dish in a limited quantity, picked up from a local vendor. The TV only has Kerala channels, which makes it hard to keep kids occupied. The manager made it feel as if giving us a room at this price was a favor, and anything extra deserved another charge. The property is better suited to backpackers. Families might prefer to pay about Rs 400-500 extra for a full-service place across the road, like Hotel Sea Side residency or somewhere similar. The manager needs to improve his attitude and how he treats customers, especially families.
