Mr. Mahendra Bora’s care began before we even arrived. On a holiday weekend at Kathgodam, cab drivers were asking nearly double the fair price. One quick call to him got us step-by-step guidance, a suggestion to take a sharing cab, and follow-ups to make sure we reached safely. That already said a lot about the kind of host he is. We were given a first-floor room with a private balcony and stunning views. It was spacious and well maintained, with a good mattress, 24/7 power backup and excellent WiFi. Whatever we ordered, from tea and Maggi to parathas, kadhai chicken and paneer, came fresh and on time every time. When we asked for fresh chicken, Mr. Mahendra even went to the market himself to get it. He also took us in his own vehicle to Jageshwar Temple and Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary. He shared the history, pointed out the forests, took us along offbeat routes and made sure we got a lot out of every moment. There’s a free viewpoint about a 10-minute walk from the property, well worth it for the Himalayan views. A bonfire is available too, weather permitting. We spent three nights at Binsar View Homestay, and the experience went beyond what we expected. I’ve travelled around Germany, Singapore and elsewhere in the world, but I’ve never had hospitality quite like this. As my wife said, it felt truly personal. Mr. Mahendra wants guests to fall in love with his mountains and the region where he grew up. His pride and warmth, along with the whole team’s care, made the stay exceptional. The rating only goes up to five stars, but I’d give it ten. 🙏🏔️

We enjoyed the peaceful setting, beautiful surroundings and time connecting with nature at Binsar View Homestay. We went trekking, did yoga and played cricket. Thanks to Mahendra ji and the staff for the kind hospitality and excellent service. Highly recommended for a Binsar visit.

Those chilly, cozy mornings with hot chai and mountain views are already missed. The moment we arrived at Binsar View Homestay in Uttarakhand, the crisp cold and calm surroundings made it feel peaceful. Our cottage was warm, inviting and beautifully maintained, a comfortable place to come back to after being out in the cold. The mountains looked especially lovely in the chilly air. The staff were thoughtful, polite, friendly and always ready to help. Can’t wait to return!

The peace here is what really sets Binsar View Homestay apart. It’s quiet, with birds and mountains for company, and the sunset views across layers of mountains are lovely. The fresh air makes it an easy place to slow down and take it all in. Food is home cooked, simple and delicious, served with the kind of warmth that feels like a family meal. After a day in the hills, it’s comforting. Evenings can mean a bonfire under the stars, with conversations that just flow. There are also cricket and carrom for a bit of relaxed fun, especially with friends or family. A homely place with good food and beautiful scenery, highly recommended if you’re after some calm.

The staff were very helpful and ready to assist, and we really liked our stay. You get a breathtaking mountain and valley view from the room, which is quite large and has an attached verandah. The cooking is good, and if you ask, they’ll bring onion and potato fritters with evening tea or coffee. They can also arrange a lawn bonfire in the evening for Rs 500. Power can be intermittent at times, but there’s a backup supply. Binsar view point is about 800 m away and has a somewhat limited view of the Himalayan ranges. For the best view, go to zero point, around 2km from the hotel. We’d recommend this place to anyone visiting Binsar.
