The Himalayan Woods

The dinner area deserves a mention: the food was great and the staff there were always on hand to help. The hotel is a long drive from Almora Town, around 35-40 minutes, but the quiet setting and splendid room views helped us unwind. It’s made entirely of wood, bathrooms included, and the wooden details in the rooms and corridors really catch your eye.

The food was served hot and made to suit what we needed, and the staff looked after us so well that it felt like being at home. After the long drive up those winding roads to 7000ft, staying at ' Himalayan woods' was a real relief. It's 3 km from Almora market and just 200mtrs from kaesar Devi temple, with a glimpse of the Himalayan mountains if you take a walk. The clean rooms, peaceful views from the rooms and balcony, and the whole hotel's atmosphere made me want to take photos and keep making memories. I loved the hospitality and service and was already thinking I should return more often and tell everyone about it. A must-stay in Almora (Uttarakhand)!

We arrived with family on 30th October and had a great stay. The place was beautiful and the food was good. Everyone on staff was honest and went out of their way to help us with our activities. Bunty at reception was especially polite and helpful. If I'm back in Almora, I'll stay here again. Kudos to the team💕

For what we paid, it was decent enough, though not especially good. We booked the luxury room for 14.5K for 3 days. The food in the restaurant tasted good and was well prepared, with decent portions. The place is small but the property and rooms are nice, well kept, and look great in photos because they're wooden. Staff are generally helpful and well behaved, but they forgot butter when I ordered butter roti and would come into the room without knocking or asking, so we kept the door locked. You can't have food in the rooms, maybe because of the wood. The ground-floor restaurant is open on all sides and has no heating, so you need caps, hoodies, or jackets to eat there. In the room, there's no temperature control or hot air blower, which was a big put-off for me since I don't like wearing so many clothes indoors. The bathroom also has no proper partition between the bathing area and toilet/washing area, just a raised platform and curtain, so bathing leaves the whole room wet.
