OYO 8331 Kodavath Residency

The furnishings looked new, and the atmosphere was nice. I booked through make my trip app for one night; the reception team and other staff were courteous, and I had a pleasant stay. The room was a bit small, though that was what I expected from the Google Map photos.

I wouldn't choose this property again. They said rooms booked through **** get placed beside the garbage, while only direct customers get clean rooms, and they also told me the 1000 I paid was why I got that kind of room. There were worms and ants around the room, rubbish was burned nearby, and wet garbage was dumped right beside it. On the first morning they refused to bring tea or coffee at 7am, saying service only started after 8am with breakfast. There was no security guard, and the shabby hotel's back door beside the room stayed open day and night. Other guests smoked with their doors open. The sheet and towel had pale yellow stains, though they didn't smell bad.

Getting to Kochi airport is convenient from here, and Aluva railway station and the bus stop are very close. The staff were friendly, but also took that as a chance to ask for a five-star rating the hotel hadn't earned. My room had cockroaches and smoke in it, no proper ventilation, and the supposed double bed was two cots pushed together, so sleeping comfortably was hard. It felt overpriced.

The staff service was great and it was easy to find. The room turned out much smaller than I expected, but it was clean and good, and the other facilities were great too. A pleasant stay.
