Hotel Sariska Manor

We came from Gurgaon for four days with my parents and two grandmas, and booked five safaris to make the most of the forest. The staff were exceptionally caring, especially toward the grandmas, and the full-board meals were very well prepared. The resort is beautifully done, with attention to detail in the design, furniture, and food service. Mr. and Mrs. Singh live here for much of the time, are lovely to talk to, and clearly keep working to improve the place. Nothing felt commercial or like care came at an extra cost. It felt like being looked after at home, or better. The team arranged tea by the lily pond and brought it to our room when the grandmas weren’t very mobile. When someone in our group got sick, Mr. Singh arranged a rehydration drink, khichdi, and yoghurt, then made the same meal again on our last day without charging us. Their kindness was disarming. The safaris were mixed. We saw no tigers on the first four, though we did see a leopard on the fourth. The forest and guides were great in early May, when it wasn’t too hot, and we saw plenty of wildlife up close, including spotted deer, Nilgai, peacocks, and monkeys. For the fifth safari, Mr. Uday at the hotel made a big effort, and we got to see a tiger at very close quarters. Everyone in the family was happy with the trip. A few things went wrong: a safari booking issue meant one person in our party couldn’t go on one of the days. We also weren’t told that mobile phone photography wasn’t allowed, and we hadn’t brought a proper camera. That was a significant setback, though we should have checked the national parks website ourselves, where the information was available. The government safari vehicles and road into the park aren’t suitable for people with mobility issues. We had planned and paid for the grandmas to go, and their names were in the safari register, but it proved impossible to take them.

Tree of Life, part of the Taj Group of hotels, has recently taken over the property. It’s right by the safari entry gate, with spacious rooms, a good pool, and great food. They offer table tennis, bicycles, and cricket, with plenty of other activities around sariska. I’d like to see more wildlife touches in the rooms, but overall it’s a good place to stay.

We had two unforgettable nights at Tree of Life Sariska Manor. The food was a standout, fresh and delicious at every meal, and thoughtfully made. They also packed picnic baskets for our early morning safari, which was a lovely touch. Right next to the Tehla Gate, the location makes getting to the safari easy. For a peaceful break with excellent hospitality and really tasty food, Sariska Manor is a great choice. I can’t wait to visit again!

We were lucky enough to see a tiger family very close during the safari tours, which was incredible. The service was wonderful, and we were really happy with our stay. A top hotel, absolutely recommend it.
